HolidayExtras.com has found that families still love the classic package holiday, with 62% of Brits pledging allegiance to sun, sea and sand in a recent survey.

Despite the growth of independent travel and the staycation in recent years, 45% of customers who holiday with a family told the market-leading travel add-ons company that they will continue to plump for a package, attracted by the easy and stress-free way to organise a break. A further 17% will stay loyal to package holidays as they find them the cheapest option.

For 30% of customers polled, building their own family holiday from scratch is preferable and 8% feel it is cheaper to travel independently.

Anthony Clarke Cowell, head of product innovation and merchandising at HolidayExtras.com, said: “As package holiday prices fall and the British summer looks like another wash-out, the traditional overseas family break is experiencing a revival.”

HolidayExtras.com can help families with hassle-free extras for every holiday.
