Holiday Extras Customers' Awards shortlist for 2011 revealed

66,000 votes cast by holiday travellers, 44 companies shortlisted in 12 categories

More than 60,000 customers have voted in the UK’s biggest and fairest travel awards, the Holiday Extras Customers’ Awards. With nearly three times more votes than last year, HolidayExtras.com is delighted to reveal details of those travel organisations that have made it to the shortlist.

HolidayExtras.com, the UK’s leader for travel add-ons, asked customers flying via UK airports to vote on their travel experience. Categories included Best UK Airport, Best Airport Hotel, Best Airport Car Park and Best Airline, Best Cabin Crew and Best Airline for Travelling with Babies. Two new categories this year include Best Travel Guide Publisher and the film which has most inspired Brits to travel.

The most hard-fought category was Best Airline with Singapore Airlines, Swiss, KLM, Emirates and last year’s winner Aer Lingus vying for the top slot.

Around the World in 80 Days, Shirley Valentine and Australia have been battling to secure title of Most Inspirational Travel Film whilst there is hot competition to become the UK’s Best Travel Guide Publisher. The winners will be revealed on September 15th, 2011 at an exclusive presentation evening at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London.
