Travellers must be quick off the blocks to book airport hotel rooms during the Olympics

HolidayExtras.com, the UK’s leading travel add-ons provider, is reminding Londoners who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the Olympics to be quick off the line if they want to secure an overnight stay at the airport.

With 320,000 international visitors expected throughout the games and eight million people with tickets for the events, it looks like the capital will be bursting at the seams.

“Airport hotel rooms will be at a premium this summer with so many Olympic tourists arriving in the UK,” warned Sean Hagger, Associate Commercial Director at Holiday Extras.com. “We have been working hard to secure as many rooms as we can for our customers, and as always, they will be at the best prices possible. We urge customers to act quickly.”

The London Olympic Committee has just released some of its room reservations and HolidayExtras.com has lost no time in securing availability at hotels surrounding the London airports (Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton and Stansted). And in spite of recent news about high hotel rates, HolidayExtras.com have put together some great deals for those who book early.

For example, at Gatwick an overnight stay at the luxury Felbridge Hotel and Spa plus 15 days’ holiday parking starts from just £149.

Or the more budget-conscious can book the three-star Days Hotel with eight days’ on-airport parking from as little as £111. Those travelling with children will find the family-friendly Holiday Inn Gatwick Worth an attractive choice at just £140 plus eight days’ parking at the hotel.

At Heathrow, holiday travellers can book a family room at the four-star Marriott with eight days’ parking through HolidayExtras.com from £204* or a double room at the Park Inn plus eight days’ secured parking for £288.

These room plus parking packages are extremely competitive when compared to the average Olympics London room-only hotel rate of £213; a staggering 102 per cent higher than last year.
