Redcar resident Peter Caton set off on a dream holiday to Barbados this week, courtesy of the Holiday Extras Customers’ Awards and Teletext Holidays.

Mr Caton won a seven-night Teletext holiday for two at four-star The Club Barbados Resort and Spa including flights, after voting in Holiday Extras’ annual traveller survey. His prize also included an add-ons package from HolidayExtras.com of an overnight stay at the four-star Gatwick Sofitel with parking, dinner the night before his flight and entry to an airport lounge.

Now in its fourth year, the Customers’ Awards attracted votes from 101,000 HolidayExtras.com customers who travelled via a UK airport between April and August 2012.

Travellers voted in categories including Best Airline, Best Travel Agent, Best UK Airport, Best Airport Hotel and Best Airport Car Park.

Relaxing at his hotel before departing for Barbados with his wife Cynthia, Peter said: “We were very happy to share our feedback on our last trip for the Holiday Extras Customers’ Awards. It’s quite unusual as a holidaymaker to be able to rate the companies you travel with, and to help decide who is doing the best job for customers.

“And what a brilliant prize. A week in Barbados and a great package before flying too. The Sofitel has given us a perfect start to our luxury holiday!”
