The Holiday Extras App allows holidaymakers to reserve hotels and book airport parking and lounges, on the go. All reservation details can be quickly downloaded onto the device and shown as paperless confirmation at the airport hotel or car park, instead of printing off a hard copy for each.
Users are also be able to view their reservations even without a wifi or phone connection, making it ideal for accessing their booking while abroad at no extra cost.
“We want to make travel easy for all our customers no matter how they choose to book with us and in the last 5 years we have seen the traffic to our site from mobile devices increase from less than 1% to over 30%,” says Anna Divers, Customer Innovation Director; “with a third of our customers now choosing to visit us on a mobile device, we have designed our app to allow anyone to use their smartphone or tablet to make their holiday preparation easier.”
Since being introduced in December 2013, the app has been downloaded over 12,000 times with more than 2,000 bookings. Users will soon benefit from booking their travel insurance via the app and from September 2014 they can watch the days tick down to their next trip with a personalised Holiday Countdown function.
