The team at travel company Holiday Extras welcomed Jeff Gothelf, an industry expert in Agile UX design, for three days of workshops and talks last week.
Jeff Gothelf of US-based Neo Innovations, demonstrated ‘Lean UX’; a concept inspired by Lean and Agile development theories. The idea encourages teams to collaborate across the business and to prioritise user experience before embarking on a design, rather than focusing on the end product. Participants were urged to keep the needs and preferences of the customer in mind throughout an entire project.
Matthew Pack, CEO for Holiday Extras, commented : “We are constantly creating the best ways to deliver what is most important to our customers. We are so lucky to have been guided by Jeff, who is an industry leader in Agile UX design.
“I have seen Jeff speak twice at conferences and was impressed both times. There is a greater impact, and we can provide simultaneous learning for up to 50 people when we invite guest speakers to Holiday Extras. We felt the time was right for this approach as we’ve been running Agile for three years and have just changed to cross functional teams we call PODS three months ago.
“These last three days of Agile UX design with Jeff at Holiday Extras has offered a unique opportunity for our teams to learn from the best in the business. Investing top quality training for our talented people helps us to create an environment where our teams can collaborate and innovate to give our customers what they really want.”
“It has been awesome to come to the UK to lead the training workshops at the Holiday Extras Learning Academy,” said Jeff Gothelf of Neo Innovation, “Even after 31 years there is still a buzz at the heart of this forward-thinking business. Their mission to make travel easy puts the customer at the heart of everything.”
