This week, the RSPB Dungeness nature reserve received a handy hedge trimmer, donated by local travel company Holiday Extras.
This essential piece of kit will be useful in managing the reserve, which supports an internationally important community of plants and animals.
RSPB Dungeness Warden, Craig Edwards said: “Among our projects is the aim to recover fen growth in the freshwater pits by cutting back invasive vegetation. A hedge trimmer is just what we needed for the job, and will help us to enhance the overall biodiversity of the area and I am very grateful for Holiday Extras’ generous support.”
The hedge trimmer, presented at the reserve building by Holiday Extras’ Crista Buznea, represents the company’s real interest in supporting local environmental initiatives.
Holiday Extras’ CEO Matthew Pack added: “We really admire the work of the RSPB in preserving the natural landscape and hope they will find our donation useful.”
